Confetti Wedding Videos

Professional Wedding Videographer in the UK — About Ian

Behind the Lens — My Story

Hi, I am Ian — a professional wedding videographer based in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, with
over a decade of experience filming weddings across England.

I started Confetti Wedding Videos because I believed couples deserved wedding films that
were genuinely cinematic — not shaky handheld footage, not a camera pointed at the front of
the church and left running, but real storytelling that captures the feeling of a day, not just the
events.

Ten years and over 200 weddings later, that belief has not changed. I still feel the same
excitement on every wedding morning that I felt on my very first one.

I film around 25 weddings a year — enough to be highly experienced, not so many that any
couple ever feels like a number. Every couple I work with gets my full attention from the first
phone call right through to the moment I deliver their finished film

Award-Winning Wedding Videography UK

Confetti Wedding Videos has been recognised with both the TWIA (The Wedding Industry
Awards) and the Lux award for excellence in cinematic wedding filmmaking.
The TWIA means the most to me personally. It is voted for by real couples and judged by real
industry professionals — not a panel that has never picked up a camera. Winning it is a direct
reflection of the couples who trusted us with their most important day, and that means everything.
If you would like to see what that trust looks like in practice, browse our wedding films portfolio.

Equipment and How We Film

Every wedding is filmed using four 4K Canon cinema cameras — one operated by me
throughout the day and three positioned remotely to capture multiple angles simultaneously. I
position them at the ceremony aisle, from the balcony or gallery, and a wide establishing angle
— so you always have the perfect shot regardless of where the emotion happens.
For audio I use professional lapel microphones fitted discreetly to the groom and officiant
before the ceremony begins, plus directional and room microphones as backup. This
multi-microphone approach means every word of your vows and every speech is captured with
crystal-clear audio in your finished film, even in venues with difficult acoustics.
For aerial footage I use a DJI drone, subject to location permissions and weather conditions.

Areas We Cover — Leicestershire to London and Beyond

Based in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, I cover weddings across all of England with no additional
travel charges within England included in my standard package pricing.
The majority of my work takes place in London and across the East and West Midlands, but I
regularly film in Yorkshire, the Cotswolds, the South West, the South East, and the Home
Counties. I have also filmed destination weddings across Europe.
If you are planning a London wedding specifically, I have a dedicated page covering my
London wedding videography work, portfolio and pricing.

My Approach — Why Couples Barely Know I Was There

The most common thing couples tell me after their wedding is that they barely knew I was
there.
That is the highest compliment I can receive — and it is the result of a very deliberate
approach. I blend in. I anticipate moments before they happen. I never ask you to pose, repeat
something, or perform for the camera. I never interrupt a quiet conversation, a nervous glance,
or a spontaneous laugh to position myself for a better shot.
What you get back is your wedding day exactly as it happened — captured by someone who
genuinely cared about every single moment of it, and knew when to be there and when to step
back.
